Whistler and the Sea to Sky corridor offer endless opportunities for adventure and this winter I pushed myself to explore beyond Whistler Blackcomb and ski tour / splitboard some of the endless backcountry of British Columbia’s Coast Mountain Range. Exploring by skis or split board is an incredibly rewarding experience offering solitude, adventure, expansive immersion in nature and incredible opportunities to ski and snowboard great snow in amazing terrain. With proper training, equipment and ongoing education, backcountry travel is a great way to make the most of winter. Armed with my skis / splitboard and camera this winters trips took me to the Brew Hut, Garibaldi Lake, Keith’s and Wendy Thompson Huts on the Duffey Lake Road, Waddington Hut in Phelix Creek and around the backcountry off of Whistler Blackcomb resort.
